How Do I Book?

To book any of our dance and fitness rehearsal studios and/ or music rooms to hire, simply click on any of the links on the main site to go through to our booking portal. All bookings are made online. We cannot accept bookings over the phone unless you’re a paid member in which case you can contact your designated account manager. How Do I Pay?
Payment is taken at the time of booking using our online booking tool (http://academystudios.skedda.com) which accepts all major debit and credit cards.
We are not able to accept cash payments. Members are welcome to pay by card or BACS upon receipt of a monthly invoice.
Membership payments are taken by monthly direct debit.
Bespoke, personalised and customised bookings are payable upon receipt of invoice. Unfortunately our online booking system does not faciliate out of hours, extended, and bespoke bookings.
Do I Need To Be A Member To Book?
No absolutely not!! Although we do recommend membership to those clients who have regular weekly classes, courses or rehearsals in order to secure your preferred dance studio slot, and also to benefit from the 10% off peak time prices and advertising and marketing support!

Can I Pencil A Booking?
No unfortunately not. We do not have a pencil facility for dance studio or music hire. Bookings must be made online and paid for at the time of booking.
What Is The Cancellation Policy?

For all dance studio and music room hire, rehearsal studio hire, yoga class studio hire, dance class studio, and any other use of the Academy Mews Dance Studios:

Bookings cancelled up to 1 month prior to the booking date will receive a 100% refund.

Bookings cancelled up to two weeks before the booking date will receive a 75% refund.

Bookings cancelled up to one week before the booking date will receive a 50% refund.

Bookings cancelled up to 72 hours before the booking time will receive a 25% refund.

Bookings cancelled less than 72 hours in advance will NOT be eligible for a refund.

For example:

A booking cancelled two days before would receive a 0% refund.

A booking cancelled four days before would receive a 25% refund.

A booking cancelled ten days before would receive a 50% refund.

A booking cancelled seventeen days before would receive a 75% refund.

A booking cancelled more than a calendar month before would receive a 100% refund.

For members:

Please note all members must provide at least one month notice to make any amendments or cancellations to their recurring bookings in order to receive a refund.

For non members:

Please note all bespoke, customised and personalised bookings are completely non-refundable, including all bookings paid on receipt of an invoice. Bookings made and paid for external to this website are non-refundable.

Following updated guidance from the UK Chief Medical Officers, anyone who develops a new continuous cough or fever or anosmia should immediately self-isolate and book a test at NHS.uk/coronavirus or call 119. Anosmia is the loss of or a change in your normal sense of smell. It can also affect your sense of taste as the two are closely linked.

The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of any of the following:

a new continuous cough

a high temperature

a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

How Far In Advance Can I Book?
We accept dance studio bookings online up to 600 days in advance, and you can book as little as 6 hours in advance for those last minute studio requirements.
Can I Take Food Or Drink Into The Studio?

We only allow bottled water in our dance studios. No hot drinks or food are allowed. Any damages in the studios incurred by bringing in food and/ or drink will be liable. Any deliberate mess left in the studios will incur a £50-£100 penalty charge.

Can You Provide Yoga Mats?
We have spare yoga mats in the building that are available to users free of charge but please be aware these are taken on a first come first served basis, so please don’t rely on mats consistenly being available. We would always recommend bringing your own.
Are The Studios Suitable For Pole Dancing?
The solo studio dance studio is the regular choice for pole dance bookings as the ceilings are reinforced to support the poles (only at particular points, please check before assembling your poles). The ceiling height in the solo studio is 2.4m.
Can You Provide Poles?
We as a company don’t provide poles, however studio users quite often store their poles here, so we would be happy to introduce you to fellow pole users via email to make your own potential hire arrangements.
Does Every Studio Have Mirrors & A Sound System?
Yes every dance studio has floor to ceiling mirrors on at least one wall and all studios are equipped with sony sound systems compatible with all devices. All studios are ideal to hire for yoga classes, dance classes, pilates classes, fitness classes, dance rehearsals, personal rehearsals, casting calls, castings, photo shoots, meetings, script run throughs, hen parties, stage rehearsals, acting classes, music lessons, coaching, and much more!
What Are Your Opening Times?
Our dance studios to hire are open daily 9am to 10pm.

We are able to open earlier and close later on special request. Any additional hours will be charged at the peak time rates.

Can I Access The Studios Early To Set Up?

If the dance studios are available prior to your booking time then yes we will allow access 10 minutes early in order to prepare. We ask all clients to please be courteous of each other and run to time. 

We have a 15min buffer time in between bookings to allow the staff time to reset and clean the space, so if you booking runs over 5min, you will be charged for the 15min slot.

If you run more than 10 minutes past your booking time, you will be charged a fine of £60.  If you require set up and pack down time please consider this when making your booking.

What Are The Peak and Offpeak Times?
Peak time is Monday to Thursday 5pm to 10pm and Friday to Sunday 10am to 10pm. Off peak times are Monday to Thursday 10am to 5pm. We offer a 50% discount at off peak times which is automatically applied when you book online using our online booking tool (http://academystudios.skedda.com).
Can I See The Studios and Music Rooms Before I Book?

Absolutely! We’ve tried to provide as many detailed images on our site as possible but understand that in some cases, seeing is believing!! Viewings must be arranged on the same day as you wish to view so please call 020 7388 9090 anytime from 9am on the day you wish to view to find out the availability of the studio(s) you wish to see.

What Are The Dimensions And Capacities Of The Studios?

The Balcony Studio: 18m x 5.5m | Capacity 35 people
The Lounge Studio: 8.m x 5.5m | Capacity 20 people
The Solo Studio: 5.5m x 5.5m | Capacity 1 – 12 people
The Office Studio: 5.5m x 5.5m | Capacity 1 – 12 people

Do I Need To Bring Cables Or Leads For My Musical Equipment?
All dance studios are equipped with sound systems and leads compatible with all devices, however, leads to have a tendency to make their way home with clients, so we do advise you to bring your own just in case ours have left the building!
Is There Disabled Access?
We have disabled access to the ground floor only via a ramp. Please notify us in advance if you require the ramp to be assembled. The only studio on the ground floor is our Lounge Studio and hence the only one suitable if disabled access is required.
Do you have ballet barres?

Yes we have 5 portable ballet barres. Please note that they are available on a first come first served basis and if you wish to reserve, please mark how many you need to use at the time of booking in the relevant field.
