DRAMA & MOVEMENT THERAPY GROUP

About:

This is a dramatherapy group combining expressive arts with a traditional group analytic approach to explore the fundamental human tension between the need for individuation and connection. It is open to all adults. The group starts on the 22nd of October, but it is possible to join after this date. Please contact me for details.

I trained in Drama and Movement Therapy at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (profile) and as a clinical supervisor at the Institute of Group Analysis.

In addition to my private practice, I work in schools with children and their families, and teach on the MA Movement Studies course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

I am HCPC Registered and a member of British Association of Dramatherapists.

What is Drama and Movement Therapy?

Drama and movement therapy is a form of psychotherapy.

It works with clients’ emotional, intellectual and physical selves to increase well-being, manage chronic mental illness and feelings of distress and to realise personal, creative and professional potential.

Clients come to me for a variety of reasons, including depression and anxiety, managing difficult relationships, processing trauma and to grapple with feelings of being “stuck” or of lacking meaning.

I use a variety of approaches in therapy sessions, based on what best suits each client and group. Groups in particular are an opportunity to explore the fundamental human tension between the need for individuation and connection

I believe the role of therapy is to provide a space for people to reconnect not just with health but with joy.

Contact me for a free confidential phone call to see if dramatherapy might be right for you.
