Practising Grace is Ensemble’s weekly contemporary dance company at Academy Mews Dance, London. Anyone can join, with any amount of experience. It is a chance to be part of a company of people dancing together.

You might be a dance student who would like to experience being part of a company, have previous dance experience or just have a love of dance and want to explore your passion. Practising Grace dancers
learn company approaches to movement, dance, company
repertoire and perform twice a year.

About Ensemble

Directed by dancer Hayley Matthews, Ensemble is a
collection of artists from performance, sound and light
shifting the horizon of contemporary dance and encouraging
an active, intimate, graceful citizenship through dance.
Ensemble’s dance style comes from Hayley’s practice in
which she draws from her experience as a contemporary
dancer, choreographer and a Rolfer – a structural integration
body worker. Hayley is interested in dance as a way to
research and share a way of moving with grace, intimacy,
resilience, functionality, courage, effciency and freedom.
A central feature of Ensemble’s practice is to curate
experiences that give the public a bridge into contemporary
dance and time to contemplate. Ensemble’s work is
powerful, touching and intimate.
